چکیده
The electrolytic reduction of a spent oxide fuel involves the liberation oxygen in molten salt LiCl–Li2O electrolyte, which creates corrosive environment for typical structural materials. In this study, corrosion behaviors Al–Y-coated specimens Li kept under an oxidizing atmosphere at 650 °C 72 and 168 h were investigated. weight loss fraction coated specimen to bare was approximately 60% 3% Li2O 54% 8% h, 38% 30% h. Corrosion induced by basic ion O2− via flux mechanism, product found be dependent on activity ion. increase may have been caused concentration due rather than being because increased reaction time. Al–Y coating beneficial hot resistance, can useful handling high-temperature lithium atmosphere.

Hot dip aluminizing was carried out on the low carbon steel rod under optimized conditions. The aluminized samples were further oxidized at 1000̊C in air atmosphere at two different times of 20 and 60 minutes. Microstructure study and phase analysis were studied by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction methods, respectively. The characterization of the coating showed that, Fe2...
